…in Stride

Wed ,10/08/2011

When the river touched my feet
I shook my hands in defeat
When the flames touched my hands
They ribboned my bones
…exposing me again.
When the winds passed me by
they left behind the distant sounds
of a baby’s cry
When I finally opened my eyes
to see if a child had died
I was rewarded a medal
for taking it all
…in stride

Would you step on a caterpillar, she asked

Would you kill the future memory of a child

who is fighting for their reason, and one day~

one day when the butterfly was to make its

permanent mark upon the little child

who would bear their first real smile upon the world

that will reflect back upon us through a photograph

…and the butterfly

…would you, she asked?

Would you step on a caterpillar?

How will you know if I do, I asked

She said

When the childs memory…is gone too soon

That’s the day your feet stop touching the ground

And the butterfly is no where to be found

You fascinate me
Frustrate me
Punish me
Heal me
Age me
Make me crazy
You freeze me
You forget me
Pass me by
like you’ve never met me
You diminish me
Complete me
Haunt me
Consume me
Waste me away, yet
You are nothing without me
I love you
I hate you, yet
I will soon miss you
I cannot save you
I cannot forget you
I cannot have more of you
Your name is Time, and yet
You were never really all mine.

Dementia…

Dementia…

Your dementia laughs
as you try to hold face
The weight of your laughter
well, this is not the time or place
This moment in life
was meant for dread
Instead, right now
you think you’re better off dead
Grab your tea
Read the leaves
Sip from the life
of the dark red trees
Curve your philosophy
or you’re sure to reap trouble
Now, look at your tea
Your vision has doubled
Save your laughter
Your dementia will remain
into your ever after

The Thorn of Salem’s Rose

Fri ,30/10/2009

Salem’s Rose stands silent
within the devils bed
It’s scalpels await
those who bargain with the dead
Where the blessed hand
meets the stem
Now
Eager to begin
Breaking the skin

The journey of the Thorn
is fated
by the life of the blood
to which it has invaded
To pierce the flesh
of a dreamer
whose existence
relies upon their redeemer
To taste their sins
To see from within
Instigated by the eyes
of Salem’s Rose
When the deal is done
all eyes then close
Sweet dreams
says
Salem’s Rose ∞

A Salem Rose

Splinters

Tue ,29/09/2009

Floating
Floating in my head
Floating in my head
Are the dead
They serve me wine
They want my mind
And when they are done
All of us
Run
Through the door on the left
The floor beneath
I cannot seem
to connect
My feet
Have splinters
They are sprinters
I cannot keep up
They have great speed
Soon we shall feed
Upon each other
When we are done
We will all run
to the essential
To the eventual
Loss of control
Ah the beauty
Calls out for more
Just one more glass
Just one more door
Let me run with them
They are my splinters
They are my Zen

Remains

Thu ,24/09/2009

Just a single leaf
Catapulted my imagination
More than just a playground
of precious metals and memories
Just a single leaf
Falling before my very eyes
Bore a strange resemblance to
The descent of this worlds peace
Just a single leaf
Blankets the remainder of
The last spot uncovered upon
My tombstone where I now stand
Just a single leaf
Led me back to the scene
A mission of search and destroy
Failed dangerously upon the attack
Just a single leaf
Will be the last great detail
Of all things living that I once knew
I gave it all up for the love of my country
Just a single leaf
Remains

A single leaf

Feng Shui…two, three

Mon ,14/09/2009

I laugh at the sound of silence
and still there is no reply
I laugh out loud this time
Just to hear the echoes of
My own far away cries
Dance,
two, three
In the mirror
I dance to the silence
With me
And the shattered teeth of the clowns
smile back
two, three
Softly creating personality
Reminding me so noisily
I prefer to pull the strings
two, three
Of my own destiny
A carnivale olé’
Again and again
Each and every day
I create my own feng shui
Tomorrow’s could simply be
Singing loudly, off key
In the center of a public library
two, three
She discards the notion of necessity
That I retain my sanity
In the glory of all my audacity
Because she loves me
two, three

Blind Crush

Fri ,04/09/2009

Blind_to_us_by_SmxDeadlyDesignz
I can hear the gravel crush

Beneath the hooves
Beneath the buggy

A deer rustles the leaves of an Oak tree

A fawn opens it’s eyes
Connecting with life, for the very first time

Just to be taught the lessons
of a hunter and the hunted

The universe connects itself
Once again, the Earth spins

Blind as a bat
I can hear the night
Crossing the air that thins

I can hear the drop of a pin
I can hear your thoughts of sin

I can hear what you can’t see

Yes, that’s right…even the steel breeze

Never second guess
the sounds of fear

Otherwise you may not live
to see what I hear

Do not pity thee
Tomorrow you may envy me

He Said…

Thu ,03/09/2009

Titled: He Said…..

The greener grass made head way to the top of the mountain.
That is where the child was found,
sitting upon the jagged rocks that cliffed the mountain.
Against the wind, I walked toward the child.

He spoke to me.

He said there was a terrible day in history
that led him to question many things.
He said one day when he looked up to smile at the sky,
his innocence was shattered by a falling martyr.
He said his goodbyes.

The vision that was once so blue, went dark for
everyone…even the fools, he said.
The assassination of his innocence, the falling sky took out his eyes.
He still see’s, he said…and he still cries.

He said the questions are futile, so he stopped asking why.
He said the birds became fanatics, and now they refuse to fly.

He drew a line in the dirt, and pointed the stick to one side.
This is where it came from, he said…then pointed the stick to the other side.
This is where my family died,
and this is where I learned how hard…I could cry.

So I am here now, he said.
This is where I can hear the angels fly.

His dedication to tell the story,
reminds me of a Prophets reason not to tell a lie.

He said, why not join me…let us sit together and cry.
And tomorrow you can tell the story.
And tomorrow, you shall not ask why.
